Take an evaluated model into a usable service

Model deployment connects a saved artifact to a prediction workflow. OctOpus provides delivery options for supported models, including batch predictions, hosted services and downloadable bundles where available. Check what the selected model can actually serve and keep that separate from its measured quality.

Check the model and its evaluation first

Inspect the saved artifact, data contract and evaluation evidence. Confirm which model and version the deployment will use, including preprocessing and any base-model dependency. A high metric or completed training run does not establish serving compatibility, operational reliability or suitability for a consequential decision.

Choose a supported delivery path

A tabular prediction pipeline, a speech model and a fine-tuned language-model adapter can need different runtimes. Use the deployment options supported for the selected output, with the necessary credentials and compute configuration. Where a portable serving bundle is available, review its dependencies and execution requirements before running it in your own environment.

Test the request and response

Send representative new inputs through the intended prediction path. Include missing fields, invalid values and boundary cases, and inspect how errors are returned. For batch predictions, verify that columns and preprocessing match training. For a hosted service, review access, latency and capacity under the workload you actually expect.

Connect the service to the user-facing app

An app needs an explicit connection to the model or prediction service. Test the main user action, inspect the returned result and handle failures clearly. A public interface does not imply unrestricted access to model inputs or saved records. Review the application’s permissions separately from model deployment and keep version information with the released workflow.

Keep the evidence and operating plan

Preserve the source data version, training code, model artifact and app version. Monitor the outcomes relevant to your decision and establish when to refresh data, retrain or roll back. An OctOpus proof verifies the contents covered by its issuing instance’s signature; it does not certify accuracy, ownership of the data or regulatory compliance.

Frequently asked questions

Does every trained model have the same deployment path?

No. Supported serving options depend on the artifact and task. Check the selected model’s configuration, dependencies and available runtime before deploying.

Can I use a model without publishing an app?

Yes. Supported workflows can provide batch predictions or a prediction service separately from a user-facing app.

What does a signed model proof establish?

Verification checks the contents covered by the issuing instance’s signature. It is not an independent quality benchmark or a certification that the model is suitable for production.
